Graduation Day!

As you can see, those of us who showed up for Tuesday for our last day (#passive-aggressive-slam) did a great job finishing the gazebo.  I'll try to post here when it is being moved and installed at The Friends, in case any of you want to see that happen.

Meanwhile, for the next two days you will be back in class finishing your electrical, and then I will see you all again on Friday at 11:00AM in the student lounge for graduation day.  Remember to bring your friends and family, some sort of food product will be served.  And warm beer.

Congratulations!

Harnesses Wednesday, Electrical Thursday

Hello Caprenters,

First a note: tomorrow (Wednesday May 9) we will begin sheeting the Gazebo roof.  You will want to make sure you bring your harness.  Otherwise you will have to go up without a harness, and shortly thereafter plunge to your death.  Better to bring a harness.

Also, a reminder that on Thursday May 10 you will be doing a day of electrical on a modified schedule: class will run 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM.

Finally, please email your nominations for the scholarship to r.wettlaufer@utoronto.ca.  Time is running out!

Yes There Is Class Today - Thursday May 3

Hello Carpenters,  Yes there will be class today, Thursday May 3.  It might be sprinkling a little bit where you are now, and we may get a small little bit of rain midday, but overall the forecast is very low, so we're going to make a run of it.  Worst case scenario we'll have to take a short rainbreak, during which time we can practice your fractions, yes?

Class Cancelled Today, Wednesday May 2

Hello Carpenters,

Hard call on the weather this morning.  We were just starting to catch up to schedule, so I didn't want to lose a day.  And the sky doesn't look too bad right this moment.  But when I check the official environment canada forecast, it says we will have lots of rain and possibly thunderstorms all the rest of the day.  I know a lot of you don't have your own rides and couldn't just go home early, so I don't want to drag everyone in to start work only to stop shortly after.  Given that, we're going to cancel today.  There's a smaller risk of rain tomorrow, but I expect that will be downgraded by tomorrow morning and that we'll be able to work fine tomorrow. Stay tuned to this space to see for sure though.
